BMI FY'05-'06 Revenues, Royalties Hit Record

BMI has released financial results for fiscal year 2005-2006 (ended JUNE 30), and the performing rights organization has posted record revenues of over $779 million, up 7% from the previous year and resulting in $676 million in royalties for BMI songwriters, composers, and publishers. Collected license fees surged from cable and satellitre revenue, the Internet, and digital media, international revenues jumped to record levels, and general licensing income from bars, restaurants, retail, and service establishments rose 12%.
