WOOF BOOM RADIO Oldies WERK (104.9)/MUNCIE, IN, flipped out of its all-CHRISTMAS music format at midnight on CHRISTMAS night to become “The New Sound of 104.9 WERK-FM.” The new playlist features Classic Hits from the likes of MADONNA, MICHAEL JACKSON, DURAN DURAN, HUEY LEWIS, FLEETWOOD MAC, BILLY JOEL and more.
"WERK is one of the great radio stations of all time. The music we are now playing has tremendous appeal to the people who live in EAST CENTRAL INDIANA," WOOF BOOM President J CHAPMAN said. "It is a pleasure to locally program a station that serves our community and listeners."
VP, Dir./Operations STEVE LINDELL commented: “This is the perfect time to build on a great heritage and fill this void for a much-desired musical niche not available in our market.”
Added WERK PD JAY GARRISON, “As we got closer to the launch, and we ran many tests of the sound of the station -- it was even better than we imagined. We really believe that we will have a station that people will be passionate about. I've told people that WERK's 50th birthday is not a mid-life crisis; WERK has been born-again!"
Air personalities STEVE “BROWNIE” BROWN in the morning, ZACH JOHNSON, PAUL EVANS, JAY GARRISON, WADE STOKES and others will remain.
