PORTLAND-based ALPHA MEDIA has acquired six stations in BAKERSFIELD and MERCED from BUCKLEY BROADCASTING OF CALIFORNIA. The BAKERSFIELD stations include Rhythmic Oldies KKBB-F (GROOVE 99.3), Top 40 KLLY-F (KELLY 95.3), and News/Talk/Sports KNZR-A (1560) and KNZR-F (97.7FM). The MERCED properties include Top 40/Rhythmic KHTN (HOT 104.7) and Country KUBB (KUBB COUNTRY 96.3).
“We are privileged to buy these stations from such great operators," ALPHA MEDIA Chairman LARRY WILSON said. "The BUCKLEY clusters are a great addition to our live-and-local WEST COAST footprint."
BUCKLEY Pres./CEO JOSEPH BILOTTA noted this is the first time in 58 years his company is effectively void of broadcast assets. "To all who worked for our family-owned and operated business over these decades, we thank you again and wish ALPHA great success in BAKERSFIELD and MERCED," he said.
A sales price was not disclosed. Acquisition of the BUCKLEY clusters brings the total number of ALPHA stations owned (or LMA'd) to 86.
