Veteran TV-Radio Newscaster Cathy Pirczuk Steps Down As WWNY GM

Veteran radio and TV newscaster CATHY PIRCSUK has announced her retirement as GM and Divisional VP at WWNY and WNYF in WATERTOWN, N.Y., according to a report in NEWZJUNKY.COM.
Starting in the news department as a reporter in JANUARY, 1979, PIRCSUK became the station’s top manager in 1996. She has filled the roles of news anchor, assignment editor, news director and station manager, her 36-year career with WWNY spanning almost two-thirds of the station’s 60-year history.
PIRCSUK has been a member of the advisory board for NORTH COUNTRY PUBLIC RADIO. She has served on several professional boards including NEW YORK STATE BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION and RADIO-TV NEWS DIRECTORS, among others.
Pircsuk worked as a classical and jazz music producer/host for KBIA-F in COLUMBIA, MO, and as a morning DJ for KWOS-AM in JEFFERSON CITY, MO. Before moving back to northern NEW YORK, she worked as a news writer/producer for UPI NEWSTIME in ATLANTA.
