BEASLEY BROADCAST GROUP Top 40 WNKS (KISS 95.1)/CHARLOTTE has launched "The Radio Apprentice," a search for the next big radio star, this morning.
With the departure of former co-hosts DREX and CASSIDAY to ATLANTA, KISS 95.1 will build a new show around morning show host MANEY to continue the successes he has built in the local market. The station has undertaken a series of on-air auditions to pick his co-host.
“Although it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to DREX and CASSIDAY, I am so excited for the potential to find my next co-host during these on-air auditions,” said MANEY. “There is a lot of great talent out there and we’ve had a ton of interest from across the country.”
The announcement was made at 7:10a (ET), with fill-in co-host, former radio and current TV reporter JACINDA GARABITO inaugurating this talent search with MANEY as his first Apprentice. MANEY’s list of invitees range from SOUTH CAROLINA Governor NIKKI HALEY to "Bachelorette" reality star EMILY MAYNARD.
