iHEARTMEDIA Country WNUA (BIG 95.5)/CHICAGO continues to beef up its air staff, with TODAY’s (1/13) announcement of ALABAMA (the person, not the group or state) for afternoons and ERIK ZACHARY in evenings.
"ALABAMA is incredibly talented and fiercely competitive," said BIG 95.5 PD STEVE STEWART. “She not only does a great show but is also nonstop in the community and on all social media platforms. ALABAMA will be seen all over CHICAGO! "
Most recently hosting afternoons at iHEARTMEDIA Top 40 WNOH/NORFOLK, ALABAMA’s radio resume includes stops in DETROIT, LANSING and FRESNO.
"I’ve been incredibly excited since getting the call to come to CHICAGO and BIG 95.5,” said ALABAMA. “I'm grateful to STEVE STEWART for this opportunity and thanks to MATT DERRICK and KEITH KENNEDY for their support. I'm excited for what is to come in 2015!"
ZACHARY segues from iHEARTMEDIA Top 40 clustermate WKSC (KISS-FM).
“ERIK is one of the most energetic air talents in CHICAGO and we are lucky to have him on the team,” said STEWART. “He has a huge social media presence and a love for Country music.”
Added ZACHARY, "To say that I’m ecstatic would be a severe understatement. I’ve grown up in the CHICAGOLAND area and when I first got called to be on-air at KISS-FM, I thought nothing could ever beat that feeling. I was wrong. Not only do I have the opportunity to talk with CHICAGO Country fans five nights a week, but I get to be a part of launching what is guaranteed to be a BIG station.”
WNUA flipped to Country on MONDAY, JANUARY 5th (NET NEWS 1/5); last FRIDAY, STEWART was tapped as PD with MASON & REMY named as BIG 95.5’s morning show (NET NEWS 1/9).
