GREATER MEDIA Alternative WBOS (RADIO 92.9)/BOSTON is banning music from bands that originated from SEATTLE as the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS prepare to play the SEATTLE SEAHAWKS in the 2015 NFL SUPER BOWL. The station has promised a “SEATTLE FREE ZONE” now through FEBRUARY 2nd. “No NIRVANA, no PEARL JAM, no SOUNDGARDEN, no MODEST MOUSE, until after the SUPER BOWL.”
WBOS PD KEN WEST said, "This is “just a fun, musical way for us to support the PATS. We and our audience love SEATTLE bands. Just not so much right now.”
