The CITY OF DALLAS' Classical WRR/DALLAS won't likely be swapping frequencies with noncommercial Contemporary Christian KVTT after a City Council committee unanimously rejected the deal. The non-binding vote, which came a week after another commission, the Commission on Productivity and Innovation, voted 10-1 to recommend that the city hire consultants to appraise the station and create a noncommercial business plan for WRR, is likely to put an end to the city's pursuit of the swap, which would have put WRR on a signal comparable to its present Class C coverage but on a noncommercial frequency. The swap was the latest of several proposals over the years to try and get the city some cash for WRR's valuable commercial frequency.
