The FCC on TUESDAY formally asked the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for a 60 day delay in the court's hearing of the big 4 TV networks' challenge to indecency rulings. FCC lawyer ERIC D. MILLER asked for the delay so that the FCC can allow for response from the affected broadcasters, a step the Commission skipped in making its initial rulings (which found the material actionable but did not impose fines). The court has reserved judgement on the request for the time being.
