CBS has re-designed and relaunched KYOURADIO, which is billed as the world's first radio station to feature podcasts as its primary content. The site, originally launched in MAY 2005, encourages listeners to upload podcasts, which are then streamed online, and broadcast over the air on KYCY-A/SAN FRANCISCO. The new site features improved search functionality and incorporates the ability to notify listeners in advance of their favorite podcasts being played.
“KYOURADIO’s launch more than a year ago marked our foray into podcasting, and the feedback from the industry has been overwhelmingly supportive and positive,” said DAVID GOODMAN, President of Marketing, CBS RADIO. “Designed to deliver a great deal of information in an easy to navigate and intuitive format, the new look and feel of KYOURADIO.com is the culmination of significant user insights and input. The potential of KYOURADIO is unlimited and we look forward to continuing to develop what began as a ground breaking experiment in digital distribution of user-generated content for the company.”
The podcast database contains submissions from nearly all 50 States, as well as Europe, India, South Africa, Australia, Japan, Canada, South America and Mexico, among others. Podcasts range in length from 10 to 45 minutes and cover a multitude of topics and musical genres that include gaming, alternative rock, sports, technology, world affairs, country & blues, food/wine and fitness, among hundreds of others.
