Condolences to family and friends of LOS ANGELES radio legend DICK HUGG, better known to generations of fans as "HUGGY BOY," who died WEDNESDAY of internal bleeding at 78, according to LARADIO.COM.
HUGGY BOY, with a distinctive delivery and championing of early rock and soul music, was a fixture on L.A.'s radio dial, most prominently in a long run at then-Oldies KRLA-A in 1983-1999 (he was the last DJ on the station before its flip to Talk), followed by a stint at Oldies KRTH (K-EARTH 101); he also hosted shows at the old KRKD-A (now KTLK-A), KWKW-A, KALI-A, KGFJ-A (now KYPA-A), KBLA-A, and XEPRS-A.
