WMBX's Reggie Dee Walking Across Country For Black History Month

DIGITY Urban AC WMBX (X102.3)/WEST PALM BEACH, FL morning co-host REGGIE DEE has decided to embark on a 1,300-mile walk across the country in honor of BLACK HISTORY MONTH, KTRE.COM reports. He started in DALLAS on FEBRUARY 1st and by day three, he reached EAST TEXAS, passing through KAUFMAN and TYLER, TX, on his way through pass through LOUISIANA, ALABAMA and MISSISSIPPI before finishing his thousand-plus mile hike in WEST PALM BEACH by FEBRUARY 28th.

The idea for this walk began years ago during a conversation with DEE's mother, BETTY FOXX, who was in the hospital following cancer surgery. “I want to do a walk for you, for this cancer,” he recalled telling her. “And she was like, ‘Boy don't do that. Do something different.'”

This year, which marks the six-year anniversary of his mother's death, Reggie decided to organize “Walk with me against Racism.” “I decided from the day that [my mother] passed away to turn the radio popularity around into something positive that brings people together.” he said.
