Veteran radio anchorman STEVE SCOTT joins CBS News WCBS-A (NEWSRADIO 880)/NEW YORK as afternoon co-anchor. SCOTT, who spent the last 13 years at ABC Talk WLS-A/CHICAGO, will join the station on SEPTEMBER 11, contributing to WCBS' special coverage of the fifth anniversary of the terrorist attacks, and will join WAYNE CABOT as afternoon co-anchor later in SEPTEMBER.
"We’re so excited to welcome STEVE to WCBS," said WCBS PD CRYS QUIMBY. "During a nationwide search for the best person for the job, STEVE stood head and shoulders above the rest in his ability to tell stories and relate to his audience."
SCOTT added that "for a person who does what I do– local radio news– there’s no better place to work than NEW YORK CITY and WCBS. Five years ago, I was in NEW YORK covering the aftermath of SEPTEMBER 11th, I was amazed by the resiliency of the people, who showed incredible strength and character. I look forward to joining the best radio news staff in AMERICA– the NEWSRADIO 880 team. Oh, by the way... I like the YANKEES, too."
