RCA NASHVILLE’s MIRANDA LAMBERT picked up the coveted Best Country Album award for “Platinum” during last NIGHT’s (2/8) 57th Annual GRAMMY AWARDS, her third career GRAMMY trophy.
ARISTA’s CARRIE UNDERWOOD was honored with her seventh career GRAMMY, winning a Best Country Solo Performance award for ”Something In the Water.”
GRAMMY voters gave a nod to GLEN CAMPBELL, too, as THE BAND PERRY picked up their first-ever GRAMMY, a Best Country Duo/Group Performance honor for their version of “Gentle On My Mind,” while CAMPBELL was also honored, winning Best Country Song for “I’m Not Gonna Miss You,” his sixth career GRAMMY win.
Both songs appear on the soundtrack for “I’ll be Me,” the documentary chronicling CAMPBELL’s final concert tour and his battle with ALZHEIMER’s. “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” is also a nominee for Best Original Song at the upcoming ACADEMY AWARDS.
