Gabe Tesoriero Upped to Def Jam EVP/Media and Creative Development

GABE TESORIERO has been promoted to EVP/Media and Artist Relations as DEF JAM RECORDINGS fortifies its media, creative development and artist relations initiatives, it was announced today by CEO STEVE BARTELS.
The NEW YORK-based TESORIERO will work closely with the EAST and WEST COAST staffs on behalf of the artists and executives of DEF JAM and its affiliate labels. He will lead media, publicity, creative and imaging campaigns for the label's roster.
“I have worked with GABE personally for over 10 years and am excited to be announcing his well-deserved promotion,” said BARTELS. "Both DION 'NO ID' WILSON and I are looking forward to the energy he will bring to all of our artist campaigns. With thoughtful initiatives that will surround the great artists and executives of this label, I know DEF JAM is in strong hands with GABE’s expertise and the department he is building.”

TESORIERO is a 10-year veteran of DEF JAM, having served as SVP/Media and Artist Relations for the former ISLAND DEF JAM MUSIC GROUP since 2012. Prior to that, he was VP/Media and Artist Relations for IDJMG since 2008. He started at the company in 2005, as Sr. Dir./Media and Artist Relations.
TESORIERO began his career in music in 1998, as staff publicist with JLM PUBLIC RELATIONS in NEW YORK. His early client roster included VP Records, for whom he broke SEAN PAUL, BEENIE MAN, BUJU BANTON and others. He also handled ROC-A-FELLA RECORDS, for whom he has been representing KANYE WEST for the entirety of his career; he also handled OLD DIRTY BASTARD, BEANIE SIGEL, FREEWAY, CAM'RON and THE DIPLOMATS. Other clients included Z100 RADIO, RED DISTRIBUTION, MARK RONSON, TUFF GONG RECORDS, WARREN G, THA DOGG POUND and THE D.O.C.
