Veteran music executive RANDY PHILLIPS has been named CEO of GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT, the U.S. division of media baron ASHLEY TABOR's U.K. company, which controls BRITAIN's largest commercial radio chain. The new, L.A.-based "360" creative content company will include a label, music publishing, artist management, promotion, live concerts, events, touring, branding, sponsorship and marketing divisions, under "one roof" with offices in WESTWOOD and LONDON including a staff of experienced industry pros.

Commented TABOR, whose company includes Top 40 CAPITOL FM, Urban CAPITAL XTRA, Hot AC HEART, Alternative XFM, Oldies GOLD, AC SMOOTH RADIO, Classical CLASSIC FM and News/Talk LBC: “This is a defining moment for GLOBAL as we open our first office in the U.S. and create a new type of content company.  Our goal is to redefine the possibilities for a 21st century music and entertainment company and I am thrilled to have RANDY and the team on board.”

Among the staff is EVP/CFO CHUCK CIONGOLI, formerly of UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP; Chief Creative Officer DAVID LOEFFLER and ex-INTERSCOPE Business Affairs executive RAND HOFFMAN.  In addition, EVP and Urban Music head GARNETT MARCH brings in his own multi-faceted joint venture entertainment company, THE CHEMISTS/GLOBAL, with its first signing 18-year-old ATLANTA artist ANTHONY LEWIS.
