Chad Benson Takes Over From Ryan Hedgecock On Radio America

After years in syndication through RADIO AMERICA, former SAN DIEGO MAYOR ROGER HEDGECOCK will end his nationally syndicated program at the end of MARCH. He will continue as a TV commentator and an elections coverage specialist for KFMB-TV, CBS 8 in SAN DIEGO and a radio commentator with two daily reports on AM 760 KFMB. Taking over for him will be CHAD BENSON, a rising star from the "next generation" of talk-show hosts.
"ROGER has been a strong leader in RADIO AMERICA's lineup for years and I want to thank him for his hard work and dedication. He will be missed," said RADIO AMERICA COO MIKE PARADISO.

On MONDAY, MARCH 30th. the 44-year-old BENSON debuts in the MONDAY-FRIDAY 6p-9p (ET) time slot from flagship station, ALPHA MEDIA's FREEDO 970, in PORTLAND.BENSON is an accomplished talk-show host boasting over 22 years experience in the entertainment industry. He started in music radio in the '90s at the legendary KRTH LOS ANGELES as the Executive Producer of "The ROBERT W. MORGAN Show" and has also been featured on L.A. radio stations such as KZLA-F and KNCI-F and KWOD-F in SACRAMENTO. CHAD has also honed his skills as a voice artist for several HOLLYWOOD productions, as fans of "Droopy the Dog" hear CHAD's voice as the signature HANNA BARBERA character.
