Price For KMCQ/Seattle: $7 Million

The price for the sale by QUEEN CITIES BROADCASTING of Classic Hits KMCQ/COVINGTON, WA-SEATTLE-TACOMA to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION, a deal announced YESTERDAY (NET NEWS 2/26) with the price undisclosed at the time, is $7 million, according to the contract filed with the FCC.

EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION is also buying Classic Country WNBR-F (THE BEAR)/BETHEL, NC from COASTAL CAROLINA RADIO, LLC for $700,000.

In other filings with the FCC, MANA`O RADIO is assigning KMNO/WAILUKU, HI to MAUI MEDIA INITIATIVE, INC. d/b/a MANA'O HANA HOU RADIO for no consideration.

POSITIVE ALTERNATIVE RADIO, INC. is selling W236AD/LAWRENCEVILLE, VA to BRUNSWICK COUNTY BROADCASTING, INC. for $10,000.

COMMUNITY BROADCASTING, INC. is selling K261EE/WELLINGTON, KS to JOHNSON ENTERPRISES, INC. for $20,000.  The translator will rebroadcast News-Talk KLEY-A/WELLINGTON.

A receiver has been appointed for REGISTER COMMUNICATIONS, INC, parent company of RADIO PEACH, INC., licensee of News-Talk WPGA-A, Country WPGF-F, Gospel WNEX-A (THE LIGHT), independent/ME-TV/BOUNCE TV affiliate WPGA-TV, and THIS TV-affiliated WPGA-LP/PERRY-MACON, GA. GUARAV MALHOTRA was appointed pursuant to a court order in an involuntary bankruptcy proceeding.

COLIN H. NAITO has requested an extension of his Silent STA for KWYI/KAWAIHAE, HI "due to the impending sale of the station."

And EAST TEXAS COMMUNITY REPEATER GROUP has closed on the sale of K300CX/HENDERSON, TX to CHALK HILL COMMUNICATIONS, LLC for $1,000.  The station will rebroadcast Classic Hits KDOK-A/KILGORE, TX.
