ENTERCOM Talk WWL-A-F/NEW ORLEANS 8-10p CT co-host VINCE MARINELLO was questioned FRIDAY by police detectives investigating his estranged wife's murder.
The NEW ORLEANS TIMES-PICAYUNE reports that MARY ELIZABETH MARINELLO, who was embroiled in a bitter divorce proceeding, was shot twice in the face in a parking lot in METAIRIE, LA on THURSDAY afternoon; the paper says that the MARINELLOs had a "history of domestic disturbances" and that MARY ELIZABETH MARINELLO had discovered recently that at the time of their wedding her husband had still been married to his first wife. VINCE MARINELLO's attorneys told the paper that the divorce was amicable and most issues had been resolved, and that MARINELLO, who was in JACKSON, MS when the shooting occurred, volunteered to return to NEW ORLEANS to speak to investigators; attorney DONALD "CHICK" FORET told the paper that his client "was not involved in the homicide in any way."
Police are looking for a "scruffy-looking man" on a bicycle who was seen pedaling away from the scene of the shooting.
