Carly Evans Headed To KORA For PD Chair

MANHATTAN BROADCASTING CO. Country KXBZ/MANHATTAN, KS PD/midday personality CARLY EVANS is headed to BRAZOS VALLEY COMMINICATIONS Country KORA/BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, TX for PD responsibilities.

EVANS succeeds BO WOODS (NET NEWS 11/25), who has been forced to step down due to a medical condition. He was doubling as morning personality; that shift is being covered TFN by longtime KORA morning man ROGER GARRETT, who had announced his retirement late last year (NET NEWS 10/15).

In announcing EVANS, KORA GM JOHN SIEGLER said, “CARLY has a wonderful love and understanding of Country music, both NASHVILLE and TEXAS Country. We’re excited for her to join the talented group of radio professionals at 98.3 KORA.”

In addition to her time at KXBZ, EVANS’ radio resume includes PD, MD and on-air roles in the HAYS, KS market, at Country KKQY and AC KJLS, respectively.

“As most know, I’m a huge TEXAS Country fan and to have the opportunity to join KORA and to build on its legacy of opening doors for TEXAS artists is an absolute thrill," said EVANS.  "KORA is a market leader proudly involved in the community it serves. I’m looking forward to working with GM JOHN SEIGLER and the terrific team assembled at KORA.”

Back at KXBZ, EVANS tells ALL ACCESS  morning show co-host, MEGAN VAUGHAN handle PD duties on an interim level until the company names a replacement. EVANS’ midday shift will be covered by Top 40 clustermate KACZ PD NICK WELLER until further notice.
