Conclave Opens Rockwell Award Voting To The Industry

Since 1989, THE CONCLAVE has presented THE ROCKWELL AWARD -- an annual lifetime achievement award -- to an individual of unquestioned accomplishment in the radio industry. This year for the first time in THE CONCLAVE’s history voting for the individual to receive this honor is in the hands of the industry.

THE ROCKWELL AWARD honors those who have contributed to the industry as an inspirational leader, and a person of great accomplishment. The recipient has made lasting and significant contributions within radio.

CONCLAVE Board Chair LORI LEWIS states, "ROCKWELL AWARD nominees are selected by THE CONCLAVE’s Board of Directors. And while voting has historically been done internally, THE CONCLAVE would like to change that. We think it’s important that the industry have a say in this too. CONCLAVE is a celebration of radio, so everyone should take part in this prestigious award."

The four individual nominated this year come from different aspects of the industry:

• MARY QUASS: Pres./CEO, NRG MEDIA
• JEFF SMULYAN: Chairman/Pres./CEO, EMMIS COMMUNICATIONS
• DAN VALLIE: Founder, VALLIE, RICHARDS, DONOVAN CONSULTING and THE NATIONAL RADIO TALENT SYSTEM
• ANN DEWIG: Radio Production Pro and Voice-Actor

Individuals who want to vote for a ROCKWELL AWARD nominee may do so at THE CONCLAVE website www.theconclave.com. One vote per person. Voting ends at 11:59p on APRIL 30th.

Recent winners of THE ROCKWELL AWARD include: Author/Consultant VALERIE GELLER (2010), CBS RADIO Pres. DAN MASON and legendary programmer STEVE RIVERS (2011), JACOBS MEDIA Pres. FRED JACOBS and MEDIABASE Founder RICH MEYER (2012), ALBRIGHT, O’MALLEY & BRENNER Pres. JAYE ALBRIGHT and CONCLAVE Exec. Dir. Emeritus, TOM KAY (2013) and HUBBARD CEO GINNY MORRIS (2014).

This year’s ROCKWELL AWARD will be presented during THE CONCLAVE’s 40th anniversary celebration on JULY 16th-17th at the DOUBLETREE MINNEAPOLIS/PARK PLACE.
