THREE STATES BROADCASTING CO., INC. is selling Variety WVKM (KIXX 106.7)/MATEWAN, WV to WEST VIRGINIA EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTING AUTHORITY for $300,000. The deal was approved by the buyer's board in OCTOBER but has now been filed with the Commission.
In other filings with the FCC, DECELLES-SMITH MEDIA, INC. is selling Silent WEGP-A/PRESQUE ISLE, ME to THE PRESENCE RADIO NETWORK, INC. for $67,500. The station will be converted to noncommercial status.
SAN MARCOS VOICE has applied once again to transfer the construction permit for low-power KZSM-LP/SAN MARCOS, TX to SAN MARCOS TEXAS COMMUNITY RADIO ASSOCIATION. The transfer was previously rejected because LPFM CPs cannot be transferred under FCC rules; the parties argued public interest issues justified a waiver, and are again asserting that the deal is "merely asking for a name change/re-assignment" of the CP to an entity that includes members who are all members of the original applicant.
REACH COMMUNICATIONS, INC. has applied for a Silent STA for W252BC/PORT ST. LUCIE, FL due to damage to the station's transmission line and an extremely high standing wave ratio that led to the transmitter shutting itself off.
And EDGEWATER BROADCASTING, INC. has closed on the sale of K233CW/GREEN VALLEY, AZ to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for $1.
Low power FM construction permits have been granted by the FCC to:
- AUSTIN CATHEDRAL, INC., AUSTIN, TX
- RADIO FREE ROANOKE, INC., ROANOKE, VA
- CAMINO DEL REY, AUSTIN, TX
