TECHSURVEY11 which will have its debut at the upcoming WORLDWIDE RADIO SUMMIT 2015 at noon on THURSDAY, APRIL 23rd – consists of more than 41,000 respondents representing well more than 200 radio stations across NORTH AMERICA.
The surveys were completed in JANUARY through early FEBRUARY. THE JACOBS MEDIA team – with partners NUVOODOO – has been busily compiling the data and searching for new insights.
Here's a sneak peak at one of the key data points from the study:
Social Interaction Is A Must
JACOBS MEDIA President FRED JACOBS, who will present TECHSURVEY11 at WWRS 2015, commented, "It's now a given that every radio station (and personality) has a social media presence. But does social activity actually translate into tangible benefits for stations?
"JACOBS MEDIA's LORI LEWIS asked that same question on behalf of radio programmers, leading us to create an agree/disagree statement in both last year's survey and in our new TECHSURVEY11.
"And the results are almost identical: nearly three in ten respondents with a social profile agree (or agree strongly) that stations that interact with listeners generate more listening.
"We hear this with regularity in focus and listener advisory board groups. Being heard, acknowledged, and appreciated are characteristics that are emanating from the social space as consumers interact with brands. In the case of radio, the ability to foster and grow relationships with core listeners has never been better."
JACOBS concluded, "There is a great deal of data about the latest and greatest in social media in TECHSURVEY11, and we look forward to presenting the top-line findings at the WORLDWIDE RADIO SUMMIT in HOLLYWOOD APRIL 22, 23, 24, with the TECHSURVEY11 reveal on APRIL 23rd at noon. Hope to see you there."
