EMI Becomes Second Major Label To Ink Deal With SpiralFrog

EMI joins UMG (see NET NEWS 8/29) as the second major label to ink a deal with free download service SPIRALFROG, reports the AP. Financial terms of the agreement, which will allow SPIRALFROG's users to download EMI music and lyrics for free by watching ads for EMI's artists, were not disclosed. According to EMI co-CEO ROGER FAXON, the SPIRALFROG deal allows the label to "recapture consumer demand, which has been hijacked by online piracy."
