Rdio Names Iain Morris As VP/Global Music Publishing

RDIO has named IAIN MORRIS as VP/Global Music Publishing, based in the U.K. and responsible for leading negotiations with music publishers and collection societies. MORRIS, formerly Head of Digital, EMEA at WARNER/CHAPPELL MUSIC PUBLISHING, will report to SVP, Head of Content Licensing and Catalog JIM RONDINELLI.
RONDINELLI said, “IAIN MORRIS is one of the most respected and digital-savvy executives in the music publishing industry, and I am delighted that he has chosen to join us at RDIO. Some of the most challenging issues facing the music industry today revolve around striking a fair and equitable balance between songwriters, publishers, performing rights societies and streaming music services. Iain uniquely understands the needs of all of the stakeholders seeking to create a sustainable business model for the future of the music industry. I’m excited for what we will be able to accomplish together as we expand the company’s global presence.”
