DAVID ENSOR has announced that he will step down as Director of the VOICE OF AMERICA. ENSOR, who has led the VOA for since JUNE 2011 and was previously known as a journalist for ABC, NPR, and CNN and served as Director of Communications and Public Diplomacy at the U.S. Embassy in KABUL, told the BROADCASTING BOARD OF GOVERNORS that he will stay on until the end of MAY to allow for time to pick his successor.
BBG Chair JEFF SHELL said, “We are grateful for the leadership DAVID ENSOR brought to VOA. His deep journalistic roots and rich knowledge of world events were tremendous assets he enthusiastically invested in this venerable organization.”
