Last night (4/16), JIM HENSON STUDIOS in HOLLYWOOD was the location of a special album preview party for KEMOSABE/COLUMBIA RECORDS' artist LUNCHMONEY LEWIS.
The artist, signed by KEMOSABE founder DR. LUKE, is about to release his debut album, executive produced by WALLPAPER.'s RICKY REED. The first single, "Bills" is Top 30 on the Pop chart, with over 700k weekly streams, while the video has over 5 million views.
The intimate gathering was held inside the recording studio where the historic "We Are The World" sessions took place.
Surrounded by a select group of radio and industry people, the MIAMI-born, L.A.-based artist chatted with the crowd about his background and explained how he was given his nickname from mentor (and hip-hop producer/keyboard player) SALAAM REMI.
As guests enjoyed a fine spread of food and drinks, five songs from the debut were premiered. Before each, LEWIS provided a backstory, talking about the song, how it came together and what it meant -- throwing in humorous anecdotes along the way.
Among the attendees were BEATA MURPHY (KIIS), MICHELLE BOROS (KAMP), MICHAEL MARTIN (KMVQ), JUSTIN RILEY (KKRZ), MATT JOHNSON (KUDD), JEFF MCCARTNEY (KZHT), JAMES PALOMARES (KFRH, KRCK), BRETT ANDREWS (WRNW), ZACH DILLON (KTBT), BOB LEWIS (KISV, KKXX, KAGM), BIG ROB (KSME) and BILL SCHULZ (KLCA).
Our sincere thanks to COLUMBIA's LEE LEIPSNER, JON BORRIS, AIMIE VAUGHAN, MATT STEVENS, JAMES WHITE, DARICE LEE, AMY SCRIBNER and DONNA HAYNES plus KEMOSABE's DR LUKE and GREG MARELLA for a great night of entertainment.
