CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY station KCWU-FM (88.1 THE BURG) successfully completed its 2015 PLEDGE DRIVE, raising a total of $10,582.
From APRIL 6th through 20th, the station presented special on-air programming, including a 24-hour marathon this past weekend showcasing live DJs, and various fundraising events both on campus and in the community. The goal was to raise $10,000 in pledges during the two weeks for the KCWU COMMUNITY RADIO FOUNDATION, and their goal was reached, including a generous donation of $1,000 from the CWU COLLEGE OF BUSINESS.
All funds raised will now go to three major categories that benefit students, the community and CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY, including scholarships, extracurricular opportunities and non-restricted funds to allow the station to take advantage of opportunities and provide innovative programming and experiences to support the campus and community.
“We can’t thank the campus and community enough!” said KCWU GM TRAVIS BOX. “Not only will this generosity manifest itself into immense opportunity for CWU students, both current and future, but it is so humbling to experience the outpouring of support for our student broadcasters and this fantastic radio program!”
