WSLC Legend Swifty Gillock Passes Away

ALL ACCESS sends condolences to friends and family of GEORGE LEE "SWIFTY" GILLOCK, who passed away WEDNESDAY (4/22) at the age of 73, just a few weeks after being diagnosed with cancer. SWIFTY handled shifts on MEL WHEELER INC. Country WSLC (STAR COUNTRY 94.9)/ROANOKE, VA until six weeks ago.

SWIFTY had been with the station for more than 40 years, dating back to its time as WSLC-A (610) in the 1970s. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced, but his obituary and testament to his time at WSLC is available via THE ROANOKE TIMES.
