Condolences to the family and friends of longtime record exec LOU MAGLIA, who passed away on MONDAY evening (4/27). MAGLIA is remembered for his time at the helm of ISLAND RECORDS as well as ELEKTRA RECORDS. He launched ZOO ENTERTAINMENT in 1990.

MAGLIA was 72.

He wrote about his health in a blog post several years ago, "Six months after I decided I didn't want to continue destroying my body any longer, I turned sixty five," and added, "The energy that went into my first 65 years was a creative energy based on 'sex, drugs and rock and roll' and I thought it was an incredible energy. But the energy that I have experienced in the first year of my next 65 years is light years beyond the imaginable."

Many of MAGLIA's friends and admirers have taken to his FACEBOOK page to pay tribute.
