The Commission also renewed the licenses of SAGA COMMUNICATIONS OF NEW ENGLAND, LLC for Country WQNY (Q COUNTRY 103.7), AC WYXL (LITE ROCK 97.3), News-Talk WNYY-A (PROGRESSIVE TALK 1470), News-Talk WHCU-A, W235BR, W242AB, W299BI, W262AD, W249CD, W244CZ, W254BF, AND W277BS/ITHACA, NY; Top 40 WFIZ/ODESSA, NY; and Classic Rock WIII (I-100)/CORTLAND, NY over a Petition to Deny by FINGER LAKES ALLIANCE FOR INDEPENDENT MEDIA; the petition alleged that SAGA had gone over the limit for ownership in the ITHACA market, but the Commission noted that when ARBITRON ceased to measure the market, the permissible number of stations SAGA could own in the market increased to eight full-power stations, five in one band, and the petition complained that SAGA was violating the "spirit" of the law if not the letter.
