ESPN has confirmed a report in STREET AND SMITH'S SPORTS BUSINESS JOURNAL that ESPN RADIO is moving "MIKE AND MIKE IN THE MORNING" to NEW YORK CITY on FEBRUARY 8, 2016, the day after the SUPER BOWL. The network did not confirm yet that the show is also adding NFL NETWORK "NFL AM" co-host MOLLY QERIM as the third member of the show's on-air crew.
MIKE GREENBERG and MIKE GOLIC, whose show also airs on ESPN2 television in a simulcast, have been working together since 1998 (when GREENBERG was a fill-in host) and formally as "MIKE AND MIKE" since 1999. The show will originate from studios above the ABC "GOOD MORNING AMERICA" studios in TIMES SQUARE and will allow for "GMA" personalities like ROBIN ROBERTS to appear on "MIKE AND MIKE" and for GREENBERG and GOLIC to make appearances on "GMA."
“MIKE AND MIKE has been an extremely successful sports talk show for its first 15 years,” said ESPN EVP, Programming and Production NORBY WILLIAMSON. “The physical move to NEW YORK combined with a strong working relationship with ABC will help evolve it into a very powerful and engaging morning sports entertainment talk show.”
