The TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS is honoring former UNIVISION HOUSTON and DALLAS VP/GM BECKY MUÑOZ-DIAZ, LONDON BROADCASTING/GANNETT BROADCASTING EVP/COO PHIL HURLEY, and ENTRAVISION RIO GRANDE VALLEY Chief Engineer HARRY THIELEMANN, JR. at its Annual Awards Gala, part of the 62nd Annual TAB Convention and Trade Show, on AUGUST 6th in AUSTIN.  MUÑOZ-DIAZ will receive the Pioneer of the Year award, HURLEY will be honored as Broadcaster of the Year, and THIELEMANN will receive the GEORGE MARTI Award for Engineering Excellence.

“Texas is recognized throughout the world for the ingenuity, drive and dedication of the women and men who lead its communities and businesses,” said TAB President OSCAR RODRIGUEZ.  “The local broadcasters we honor this year have been at the forefront of deploying new technology, advancing journalism that tells the stories of all our neighbors and bringing new economic opportunity to local communities. They are role models for a new generation of broadcasters whose contributions continue to pay dividends throughout the state.”
