Pirates Make Move To WPGB Official

The move of PITTSBURGH PIRATES baseball from 51 year flagship CBS Talk KDKA-A/PITTSBURGH to crosstown CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WPGB is now official with an announcement from the team TODAY. The move was previously reported by ALL ACCESS (NET NEWS 9/8).

The team's Managing General Partner KEVIN MCCLATCHY said in a press release that "our mission is to continue to improve in all aspects of our organization, including in the way we reach our fans... KDKA has been synonymous with the PIRATES for more than 50 years. We are extremely thankful to everyone at KDKA, both past and present, for the impact they have had on our organization and the many generations of our fans. We have a lot of good friends at KDKA, therefore this was not an easy decision."

The entire six-station CLEAR CHANNEL cluster will participate in marketing with the club.
