LPFM Group To Petition FCC For Rule Changes

A new Petition for Rulemaking being prepared by a group of low power FM stations is asking the FCC for rule changes that cover a wide range of issues, including power limits, commercials, primary status, station transfers, and call letters.

THE LPFM ADVOCACY GROUP and the LPFM.AUDIO website along with over six dozen LPFMs are behind the petition, and they're seeking input about it from licensed LPFM operators; the petition's text is online at LPFM.AUDIO for review only by licensed LPFMS, who can obtain the password by emailing name, call letters, and station e-mail address to webmaster@wzfb.com. The petition will be filed this week and will then be available at SaveLPFM.org.
