WARNER MUSIC GROUP COO ROB WIESENTHAL has announced his departure from the company, RE/CODE reports. WISENTHAL plans to run his start-up company BLADE -- an UBER-for-helicopters -- full-time.
WIESENTHAL, who worked at SONY until coming to WMG in 2013, helped the group put together deals with iHEARTMEDIA, SNAPCHAT and most recently APPLE, for its upcoming APPLE MUSIC service. BLADE raised $6 million in capital last month from investors such as RAINE VENTURES, GOOGLE Chairman ERIC SCHMIDT and IAC CEO BARRY DILLER.
