Birmingham's Secret Stages Music Festival Set For Fifth Year

SECRET STAGES MUSIC FESTIVAL celebrates its fifth year in BIRMINGHAM, AL, with seven stages and more than 60 bands for the two-day event, JULY 31st and AUGUST 1st.

SECRET STAGES, dubbed "A Music Discovery Festival," is a new type of music event which celebrates incredible bands and music that hasn't yet reached a mainstream audience. Curators search year-round for great and unique talent to showcase at the festival, and work to bring the bands a new and fertile audience as well as to bring new music to awaiting fans.

SECRET STAGES also strives to be a contributing member of the community, working closely with SCROLLWORKS YOUTH MUSIC SCHOOL, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing an education in music to area children who might not otherwise have that opportunity. The festival donates 20% of its profits and works with the school on other fundraising initiatives.
 
Always forward thinking and ahead of the curve, some notable past acts include SHOVELS AND ROPE, ROBERT ELLIS, WUSSY, DOPE, DAWES and local breakout act ST. PAUL AND THE BROKEN BONES.

This year's acts include THE ACROSTICS, BEAR MEDICINE, BO WHITE Y SU ORQUESTA, THE BURNING PEPPERMINTS, CAPTAIN KUDZU, CASH LANSKY, CHAD FISHER, C1UB A.M., CULTURE VUILTURE, DALMATIAN, DROVES, EUGENIUS NEUTRON, GHOST TREES, HOLY YOUTH, LANDLADY, MEGA RAN, MUUY BIIEN, THE PASS, PRECUBED, RAINDEER, REAL T@LK, THE REGIMENT, RMVBM, THE SHEIKS, SERATONES, SHAW, SPACEFACE, STAY TUNED, SWAMPBIRD, TEMPERANCE LEAGUE, THROUGH THE SPARKS, TIMBER, TONE, VELOURIA, THE VIBE DOCTORS, WAKING ASTRONOMER and WHITE REAPER, among others.

VIP passes for the two days are $50 in advance ($75 at gate), while general admission for both dates is $25 ($35 at the gate).
