ENTERCOM Sports WEEI-F/BOSTON morning DENNIS AND CALLAHAN co-host KIRK MINIHANE was not on the air for MONDAY's show after an on-air argument with midday co-host CHRISTIAN FAURIA on FRIDAY, reports the BOSTON GLOBE's CHAD FINN.
In FRIDAY's crossover segment between the shows, FAURIA reacted with anger to MINIHANE's assertion that FAURIA, a former PATRIOTS tight end, would not be on the radio if he hadn't played pro football, and a shouting match ensued.
VP/Market Manager PHIL ZACHARY told FINN that “What I told [MINIHANE] was that due to the awkwardness of how things wrapped on FRIDAY, and since he was already scheduled to be on vacation beginning tomorrow, take off today as well and enjoy the long holiday week with his family/ There is really no more to it than that. KIRK did nothing wrong on FRIDAY.”
MINIHANE was suspended for a week last JULY for criticizing FOX SPORTS' ERIN ANDREWS after her interview at the ALL-STAR GAME with ST. LOUIS CARDINALS pitcher ADAM WAINWRIGHT, saying that if she "weighed 15 pounds more she would be a waitress.”
