FCC Fines Three Licensees For Public File Violations

The FCC has handed out fines to three station licensees for public file issues/programs list deficiencies.

J & J BROADCASTING was hit with a $10,500 fine for failing to maintain and make available the required quarterly issues/programs lists at Adult Hits WIMI (99.7 THE STORM) and Classic Country-Talk WJMS-A (REAL COUNTRY US 59)/IRONWOOD, MI and failure to notify the Commission of a change in ownership of one of its towers after it, along with the stations, was purchased from ROBERTS BROADCASTING, INC. in 2010. The fine was reduced due to a history of compliance.

GERALD PARKS was fined $1,500 for missing quarterly issues/programs lists at Gospel daytimer WEKC-A (AM GOSPEL 710)/WILLIAMSBURG, KY, reduced due to inability to pay.

And CURRAN COMMUNICATIONS was fined $720 for missing issues/programs lists at Oldies WPAM-A/POTTSVILLE, PA, also reduced due to inability to pay. CURRAN told the Commission that it thought RPM MEDIA, LLC, to which it was brokering time on the station, was handling the public file.
