Star Sues Clear Channel Over Firing

Former CLEAR CHANNEL Urban WWPR (POWER 105.1)/NEW YORK and syndicated morning host TROI "STAR" TORAIN is suing CLEAR CHANNEL for breach of contract. STAR claims that his MAY 10 firing for on-air comments threatening to sexually abuse the daughter of rival morning host DJ ENVY of crosstown EMMIS Urban WQHT (HOT 97) was based on insufficent cause.  STAR's lawsuit says that his comments were not serious when taken in context and were similar to words included in hip-hop songs aired on the station. 

The suit in U.S. DISTRICT COURT in NEW YORK seeks $10 million in damages for the alleged breach.
