Microsoft Unveils Zune

MICROSOFT officially unveiled the long-expected iPod competitor Zune portable media player TODAY, showing off a model with a 30 GB hard drive, an FM tuner, a 3-inch QVGA color screen, and WiFi that allows users to connect to other Zunes to share what MICROSOFT calls "full-length sample tracks of select songs" (good for three days of listening) along with pictures and playlists. 

The player comes in white, black, or brown and will be used with Zune Marketplace, an online store offering subscription and per-song plans.
