WARNER MUSIC NASHVILLE's (WMN) BLAKE SHELTON recognized CHICKASAW NATION Country KADA (COOL 99.3)/ADA, OK for being the first radio station to play his music. WMN sent the station a framed PLATINUM record award commemorating one million album sales of SHELTON's "Based On A True Story."
KADA GM ROGER HARRIS told THE DAILY ARDMOREITE, "BLAKE's dad, DICK SHELTON, was a car salesman next door to our station. He would bring early recordings on cassette and ask us to play them. And we did, because BLAKE was just a great guy who would play anywhere at any time for anyone that would listen. I have introduced BLAKE on stage at every arts and crafts festival in the area, so he became a friend to us. We are really excited to see what a superstar he has become.” Read the full DAILY ARDMOREITE article here.
