RTDNA/Hofstra Study Looks At Minority, Female Employees In Radio Newsrooms

The ninth release from the RADIO TELEVISION DIGITAL NEWS ASSOCIATION/HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY survey of newsrooms shows the level of minority employees in radio news rooms down from last year's high, dropping from 13% to 9.8%.  While the percentage of Asian-American employees rose from 0.3% to 1.7%, all other categories fell, with Hispanic employment droppong from 6.2% to 2.7%, Native Americans from 1.7% to 1%, and African-Americans off 4.8%-4.4%.

The percentage of female news directors fell by 3.1% in the past year; also down were the percentages of minority and female GMs.
