NELARUSKY is an Official LOLLAPALOOZA After Show that takes place at THE METRO every year, just before CHICAGO’s infamous three-day festival. NELARUSKY is directed by LAUREN MCCLUSKY, who began the event nine years ago. MCCLUSKY kicked off her first benefit for SPECIAL OLYMPICS ILLINOIS (under the title MCFEST) at the age of 17 while still attending high school in CHICAGO.
The first two NELARUSKY events featured bands from CHICAGO high schools and since then has grown to encompass internationally known bands in partnership with LOLLAPALOOZA. In 2014, NELARUSKY raised $20,000 for SPECIAL OLYMPICS ILLINOIS, bringing the total over the course of nine years to approximately $200,000.
This year’s event will feature special performances by indie pop/electronic TORO Y MOI, OXFORD, MS-based YOUNG BUFFALO and CHICAGO's own JOHN SPLITHOFF. Tickets are on sale for $25 in advance. The event is set to take place at the METRO CHICAGO [3730 N. Clark Street] on WEDNESDAY, JULY 29th, 2015. Doors open at 7p.
