Condolences to family and friends of former MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL radio personality and station owner BILL STEWART, who died last TUESDAY (9/4) at 84 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
STEWART was an on-air personality at WCCO-A from 1944-1947, then, with wife BECKY ANN, as THE PEOPLES BROADCASTING CO., put WPBC-A (now KKMS-A) on the air in 1949, adding an FM (now KJZI) in 1959 and selling the stations to FAIRCHILD in 1972. In more recent years, the STEWARTS turned to real estate development.
