Former AIR AMERICA RADIO President GARY KRANTZ joins WESTWOOD ONE as Chief Digital Media Officer. KRANTZ, who will be based in NEW YORK and report to Pres./CEO PETER KOSANN, will oversee the syndicator's digital media properties, including its new websites for CHARLES OSGOOD's THE OSGOOD FILE, RANDY JACKSON'S HIT LIST, LOVELINE, and NOTRE DAME football.
"The appointment of GARY KRANTZ highlights the immediate shift of WESTWOOD ONE's Digital Media portfolio from the developmental stage to execution," said KOSANN. "Destination web sites for key personalities and programs have been launched and the syndication of local content to broadcast affiliates and non-broadcast affiliates is rapidly expanding. GARY’s unique strengths in programming sales, and marketing will enable our new platforms to quickly gain traction with consumers, affiliates and advertisers."
"I am thrilled to be joining WESTWOOD ONE at this perfect time in the company’s growth," added KRANTZ, whose extensive experience includes stints at PREMIERE RADIO NETWORKS, AMFM, and MJI BROADCASTING. "Radio is re-inventing itself as the leading provider of audio content in all platforms, and Westwood One is a major player. This is a world class company, with a 30-year track record in providing compelling content that is perfectly positioned to extend and develop programming and brands in to new media platforms, and increase our ability to super-serve our advertisers, radio affiliates, programming partners and listeners."
