THE WEATHER CHANNEL RADIO NETWORK is changing its format for its satellite radio channels heard on SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO and XM SATELLITE RADIO. The new format includes greater national emphasis rather than concentrating on three regions of the country, a "top 25 cities forecast" every 10 minutes, and a focus for travel information on weather tips affecting air travel rather than highways.
The network's terrestrial service has added several new affiliates, including WTMP-A-F/TAMPA, WHJX-WJSJ-WSJF/JACKSONVILLE, WTGE-WDGL-WYPT-KNXX-WNXX/BATON ROUGE, and WGUF/FT. MYERS. The network also inked a multi-year extension with WABC-A/NEW YORK.
