ALL ACCESS sends condolences to family and friends of producer BOB JOHNSTON, who passed away FRIDAY, AUGUST 14th at the age of 83. The TEXAS native died in GALLATIN, TN near NASHVILLE of heart failure, reported the NEW YORK TIMES.
The legendary producer turned out some of the most impactful recordings of his generation, including JOHNNY CASH's 1968 live album, "At FOLSOM PRISON" and the 1969 follow-up "At SAN QUENTIN." He also produced BOB DYLAN's "NASHVILLE Skyline" album among others. Additional Country credits include work with MARTY ROBBINS, FLATT & SCRUGGS, WILLIE NELSON, MICHAEL MARTIN MURPHY, HOYT AXTON, and JOE ELY. JOHNSTON's non-Country credits of note include his work with SIMON AND GARFUNKEL as well as LEONARD COHEN. Final arrangements have not been announced.
