WESTWOOD ONE has revealed the updated on-air lineup for its 24-hour, syndicated “HOT COUNTRY” format, with current morning host RYAN FOX remaining and existing CUMULUS radio station personalities filling out other dayparts.
KIM CHASE, middays at the company’s KHKI/DES MOINES, will take on similar duties for “HOT COUNTRY,” with KIIM/TUCSON morning man CACTUS DAVE doubling as afternoon personality at the 24-hour network and KRST/ALBUQUERQUE PD KRIS ABRAMS adding 1-6a (ET). Evenings on “HOT COUNTRY” will be announced at a later date.
These moves follow last month’s integration of CUMULUS into one programming platform, which led to numerous exits from WESTWOOD ONE (NET NEWS 7/22). At the time, CUMULUS MEDIA & WESTWOOD ONE SVP/Content and Programming MIKE MCVAY explained that the moves will allow the company to have the 24-hour formats be hosted, "to a large degree by top-quality and experienced CUMULUS announcers from the company’s radio stations.”
