KHLT/Wichita Drops AC For Spanish Language Programming

The Lite Is Out

As ALL ACCESS reported TUESDAY (NET NEWS 8/18), AIR CAPITOL MEDIA GROUP, LLC is selling AC KHLT-F (99.7 LITE FM)/BELLE PLAINE-WICHITA, KS back to former owner DANIEL D. SMITH's BAD GAS BROADCAST, LLC for forgiveness of $1,363,117.61 in debt plus an LMA before closing; the seller will pay the buyer $1,600 per month for three years under a promissory note. SMITH sold the station (then KANR) to AIR CAPITOL for $2 million in 2013.

This morning, the station has flipped to Spanish language programming, reports THE ANDOVER LEADER.

The paper notes, "This is the station’s second run as a Spanish-language outlet, having operated as 'FIESTA 99.7' KANR during SMITH’s ownership."
